Les Livreurs Lecteurs sonores

Vocal reading and public speaking training programmes

1. Reading aloud workshops – reading French authors out loud

The aim of these various reading workshops is to train budding readers in the art of reading out and performing French novels, short stories, poems, correspondences…

Currently running reading workshops in numerous secondary schools across France, as well as at Paris-Sorbonne (Paris IV) and Panthéon-Assas University, we equally offer specially adapted workshops for English speakers seeking to learn how to give a voice to French authors.
Participants learn how to read texts out loud; giving a voice to all of the nuances of meaning and rhythm contained within them so as to provide audiences with the most accurate performances possible. In so doing, budding readers manage to conjure up a whole universe and atmosphere as well as various feelings and characters, whilst still leaving their listeners free to create their own imagery. Moreover, these reading courses allow participants to acquaint themselves with public speaking and acquire various techniques that could be of aid in other circumstances. Through appropriate reading aloud exercises, they tackle how to balance and position themselves, relax on stage, breath suitably and discover the full potential of the human voice.

2. Training in public speaking for non-French speakers

We offer training programmes in public speaking both to native French speakers – and also to individuals wishing to work in France whose first language is not French. Our French instructors, who are equally fluent in English, guide you through integrating the French professional world, with a particular focus placed on oral expression.
Alongside bureaucratic and other relevant advice, all the different types of oral expression one might encounter in the professional world are thus tackled: basic communication, commercial negotiation, presenting a project, the art of convincing or mobilising others, defending a product or idea etc.
Speaking in public is far from easy, especially when French is not your first language, and Les Livreurs provide you with a way of entering into this very specific practice.
